June 2011 Developer's Poll

This question was asked in the past. But, now that Windows 9x/Me is much less popular, have developers begun to drop support for these older versions?

Thanks in advance for your votes.

April 2011 Developer's Poll

This month's poll question was inspired by Curtis' article.

Personally, I've never used a reporting tool.

Re: Welcome Back!

Remy,

I'm testing the reply feature. Think it works. Can you try on your end?

Thanks,

Re: Welcome Back!

Yes, a crash of a worst type--a RAID failure. The website content was totally lost at the server. Had to restore from my own local backups. Luckily, the forum database was stored on another server. The bad news is that I could only do an SQL dump, and I've had a heck of a time getting this new versi...

January 2011 Developer's Poll

I recently had to use a raw C array to interface with an external library. What a pain is was! For normal everyday coding, I tend to use std::vector. I also use a custom template class that internally calls new[], although it's probably time to update this class to use std::vector as well. What abou...

Re: Change Default Focus for StringGrid in C++ Builder 2009

liofin,

This problem seems exclusive to version 2009, the only newer version that I don't have. Can you determine--by examining the VCL source--which function is throwing the "out of range" error?

Best,
Damon

December 2010 Developer's Poll

Time for another version check... I use 2007 primarily (but sometimes XE).

November 2010 Developer's Poll

This question was inspired by my recent efforts to program while waiting in the airport. I was too cheap to pay the $20 to access the wireless net. And, to top it off, my laptop didn't have any of the normal BCB/MSDN documentation. What I found is that my productivity fell quite noticeably. I often ...

Re: October 2010 Developer's Poll

It surprises me how many votes there are for (a). I voted (c). Largely based on what Damon said, but also because I want to have as much code space and form space as possible and I find having stuff docked is too restrictive. Steve, Seems like you and I are in the minority. I totally share ...

Re: TCategoryButtons

Pedand, Sorry, the article is incorrect in that a dotted rectangle is drawn (at least not in 2007, and as you've found 2009). However, the button should fire the TCategoryButtons::OnButtonClicked event when the Enter key is pressed. It won't be momentarily rendered as "pressed," but the event handle...

October 2010 Developer's Poll

I use the undocked layout with a floating designer. Just can't get used to anything else. Too many years of conditioning with BCB 1-6 I suppose.

How about everyone else?
