Plugin interface for the BCB IDE?

Postby BDifferent » Wed Apr 27, 2005 1:51 am

Hi,

is there a public plugin interface for the BCB IDE? I would like to add a feature to te BCB IDE I know and got used to in an other IDE: When using that particular feature, the block which the cursor is in at that moment is highlighted. This way you can very easily find out if braces or parentheses are missing.

Is there a public plugin interface for BCB? I couldn't find any information on that. Or is the feature I need even included in the BCB and I did't find it?

Thanks in advance,
Finn

Hi Finn,

The interface you'll need is called the Open Tools API (OTA), which is scarcely documented, but the following sites provide some useful info...

http://www.gexperts.org/opentools/
http://www.wischik.com/lu/programmer/

For the second link, scroll down to the section "Programming the BCB IDE."

Cheers,
Damon

Hi Damon,

thanks for the fast reply. These pages seem to be a good starting point.

Greetings,
