to run in debug inside ide, XE8 forces full build every time

Postby Azazaz » Sun Feb 21, 2016 3:40 am

Any time I make any changes (even adding comments without changing any code) and then try to run the project in debug mode from the IDE by pressing F9 (or using the equivalent button), I get the following exception:

---------------------------
Debugger Exception Notification
---------------------------
Project nfo.exe raised exception class $C0000005 with message 'access violation at 0x01129533: read of address 0x3122d1a0'.
---------------------------
Break Continue Help
---------------------------

This exception is thrown before Application->Initialize() in WINAPI _tWinMain is even called.

However, all I have to do to get it to go away is re-Build the project right before running it in the IDE. So long as I don't change anything at all before I press F9, it generally runs without complaint.

Fortunately, the project is not very large, but having to rebuild it all the time is still wasting my time and I expect the project to grow, meaning that so long as this continues, it will become a time glutton.

I had similar problems in XE6 and XE7.

Anyone know what I can do to fix?

Seems like this has been around so long that it should be called a feature instead of a problem.

I was afraid of that.

Thanks.
